Why we built it

We built Scalp Genie because we needed it ourselves.

We were running a real head spa and wanted to grow it. We ran giveaways. We worked with local influencers. We set up referrals. We used email and texts to stay in touch. The marketing worked — the software didn't. It took five apps, they didn't talk to each other, customer details ended up scattered, and every month we put the pieces back together by hand. So we built what we wished we had.

Can I bring my customers over from my current booking software?

I already have a website I like.

Keep it. Your booking page is on every plan, including Free, at its own address — link to it from anywhere.

Can I use my own domain?

Not yet. Your website lives at your spa's own scalpgenie.site address.

Is the booking page really mine?

Yes. Your name, your photos, your link. No marketplace, no commission, and no other spa shown to your customer on the way in.

What does the 3% mean?

When a customer pays by card through Scalp Genie, the card processor takes its usual fee and Scalp Genie takes 3%. There's no per-booking charge and no commission.

Is there a contract or a trial?

No contract — cancel any time. There's no trial because the Free plan is free.

Can I take cards at the desk?

Yes: charge a card on file or type one in at checkout, and take cash. There's no card reader.

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you run your spa from your phone, you can run this.

Does texting work on day one?

Emails are on every plan. Texts are on Growth and need a phone number set up for your spa first — a one-time step that takes a few days.

What happens to my customers' data if I leave?

Export everything, any time, and close the account yourself — both are one button in Billing.
